They are mounted directly in the respective wheel of the vehicle and measure the temperature as well as the pressure of the tire. The measured value of the tire pressure is transmitted by radio to the tire pressure control unit. This emits an optical/acoustic warning message via the display unit in the event of a registered pressure loss.
