Description:
A Door Window switch is a manually operated rocker or pushbutton type switch located in the interior of the vehicle. It is responsible for operating the window or windows to roll up or down. When the switch is pushed to the down position, the power window motor is activated, making the window roll down. When the switch is pushed to the up position, the power window motor is activated, making the motor go in the opposite direction, rolling the window up. An assembly containing multiple window switches in considered a master window switch. It allows control of all the windows from one location. It may also include other switches such as the power mirror switch or power door lock switch. With the advancement of technology in the last decade, more components have become integrated in some door window switches. Many door window switches contain modules for features such as remote keyless entry and memory door mirrors. These specific door window switches may require a specific programming procedure after installation. In time the contacts in the switch may become worn causing the switch to fail. A faulty Door Window Switch can cause no or intermittent window operation
